Earthquaker Devices Life pedal clone is an octave fuzz pedal inspired by the Shin-Ei FY2 & FY6 units leads the circuit into a LM308 chipped and a brutal Rat big box distortion, recreated with the best components, and including a three-way clipping switch (op Amp, Asymmetric & Symmetric). The second stage (red knob) is a purely clean boost to further overdrive the preamp tubes of your vintage system into harmonics, and feedback overtone bliss.
The originals were limited to 1000 units and have been sold out (current prices are $700 to$1000!). I built this clone of one in a much smaller, polished & etched enclosure with top jacks (the originals have side jacks). It has dual relayed true bypass soft click stomp switches as opposed to the clicking bypass switches like the original had. This pedal's current consumption is only 10-12ma. All of my builds are 100% hand made and built from scratch. I design, etch, drill and tin plate the PCBs, hand solder all of the components, and polish and acid etch the enclosures, making them 100% boutique. So far, I have built a total of 4 of these (one that I'm keeping) and they are definitely one of my favorite pedals that I've built to date.
