Years ago Runoffgroove designed a couple of Ampeg portaflex fliptop type of pedals and the Ginger was the second incarnation of one (it was preceded by the 'Flipster'). I have since built a few of them, the first built on veroboard, with a labeled enclosure with side jacks, then a PCB version with an etched enclosure with side jacks and finally this latest version with an improved PCB that I designed, etched and tin plated myself with a printed enclosure, with all top jacks and a relayed true bypass. I am only going to offer two of these for sale since the required Jfets (4 of them) that are used in them are no longer available and I have a very limited supply of them left.
After searching extensively for a pedal that captures the sound of a clean or driven B15N, I haven't found a pedal yet that does it as well as this one, and out of all of the pedals that I own, none of them can cop the sound and drive tone that Ronnie Lane got on the Faces' 'A Nod is as Good as a Wink to A Blind Horse' album, and this particular version does it in spades.
