1975 Gibson 'The Ripper' Bass
A very nice 1975 Gibson Ripper Bass. This is the more rare, lighter weight version (under 9 lbs) with the alder body which I prefer the feel and tone of (instead of the heavy maple ones (that can weigh 12+ lbs!). This bass is 100% original and is in very good condition for it's age. It has some scratches & dings, but IMO, nothing to detract from its appearance. The neck is arrow straight, has little to no fret wear and the action is set very low with no buzzing. It comes complete with its original hardshell case, chrome bridge cover, and original 'case candy' including its hang tag, owner's manual and even the 45 rpm single that demo's the bass!  These are really great sounding and playing vintage american made basses that don't cost an arm and a leg (but undoubtibly will in the future).

It includes it's original single ply nitrate tortoise pickguard (it looks black in the photos) but these old guards are pretty fragile and this one is 'gassing' like they all do when they're almost 40 years old (the gassing can cause the upper frets and metal hardware to oxidize rapidly) so i'm also including a single ply black one that is now mounted on the bass. Thanks for looking!
