1966 Fender Jazz Bass Replica
Made in USA with a 100% Genuine Fender body & AVRI components and Fender USA Licensed Neck
For sale, one of my custom made '1966' style Fender Jazz basses. It's very rare that I offer a pre-built one, but when I had a chance to buy one of the lightest weight, brand new (2011) american Fender Jazz Bass bodies that I've ever seen, I just had to build a '66 style Jazz bass out of it. The body and every component on it is genuine 2011 made in USA Fender . The neck is custom-made in USA, Fender licensed, to exact 1966 specifications, with a 7.25" radiused rosewood fingerboard, vintage sized fret wire (6230) with a matching candy apple red headstock and white binding. Fender only offered the Jazz bass with a pearloid dot/bound neck from mid '65 to mid '66, so this version is the most rare model of a jazz bass (only offered for 1 year before changing them to block inlays). I bought the unused Fender body new, but it has one tiny imperfection in the finish on the back of it that is almost impossible to show in a photograph. This bass is very lightweight for a jazz bass at just over 8 1/2lbs (w/o the chrome covers). The neck is arrow straight with very low action.
