For sale here is a 100% original 1978 Fender Precision Bass with its original hardshell case. Both the bass and its case are in excellent condition for their age. This bass was custom ordered with the much more rare Jazz Bass "A" neck profile that is 1 1/2" wide at the nut. Every single screw on it came originally on this bass, including the original chrome pickup and bridge covers. Even more rare is that the original bridge cover still has its 'weatherstrip' foam mute in it (see pic below). The neck is arrow straight with LOW action ( with NO truss rod issues of any kind), and the frets have little to NO wear. The action is set low, and it plays and sounds exactly like a vintage P bass should. The ONLY part that it is missing is its original thumbrest. This one is actually lightweight for this era, weighing in at only 9lbs 8 oz. The original pickguard still has its sticker underneath it that corresponds to the serial number on the headstock (see pic below). The bass's natural finshed ash body has a few small dings on it's lower edges, and also has a few the end of the headstock that are hard to show in a photograph, but nothing that detracts form its appearance. The original pot's date codes are from 1977. All of the wiring and solder connections have never been tampered with and are 100% original. This basbelonged to a very close friend of mine (who's a drummer) that purchased it brand new in 1978 and it has seen very little play time in its 33 years of existence. You will not be disappointed with this one! Its original Fender orange velvet lined hardshell case is also in excellent condition for its age (see pics), and all of the hinges and latches function perfectly. This bass will be packed extremely well and shipped fully insured via Fedex ground (ContUSA) and via USPS priority mail international for overseas buyers.
